About Us
HISTORY
The Solent Video Club was created over two decades ago by Eddie Lombardi and friends. Since then the club has grown into something much bigger.
It became the Southampton Video Camera Club (SVCC) in 2002 and has now morphed into Solent MovieMakers.
We normally meet once a month to show and review films which members have made. We also watch other films from similar clubs and judge them, they do likewise.
The aim of the club is for fellow and like minded individuals to get together to produce films.
Since 2012, the club has made several full length feature movies.
Special effects, good lighting and well produced sound are some of the things we excel at and we are happy to pass these skills on to anyone interested in what we do.
Our services are also available for entertainment.
We do not charge a fee as such but we do ask organisations to make a donation for our time and equipment. We are more than happy to bring our films to your organisation in the evenings or for your members to come to us for a cinematic evening!
We are affiliated to the IAC - The Institute of Amateur Cinematographers.

Where we meet
Solent MovieMakers enjoy excellent facilities at Banister Park Bowling Club where we meet in the large and comfortable “functions” room.
We have our own projection facilities.

Equipment
We have a variety of high quality video projection and editing equipment enabling us to cope with showing most types of video (including High Definition) and we also have access to a wide range of other equipment.
When visiting other clubs or making “location” videos, members share cars making transport effective and inexpensive.
