Competition Rules
The Committee are to review the rules at the next meeting
EXISTING RULES FOR THE DOCUMENTARY SHIELD COMPETITION
A) Filming and editing to be done by the individual Club Member with anybody supplying additional services.
B) A film may contain up to 40% stills and the completed film must not exceed 12 minutes.
C) A Club Member may enter more than one film.
D) A Club Member may enter a film that has previously been shown at the Club providing it has not appeared in any of the Club's previous competitions.
E) Entertainment/ information, editing, originality, sound and visuals should be the main criteria.
F) 3 entries or more will constitute a competition.
G) The competition will be judged by another Club if available, otherwise films will be judged by Club Members.
H) A member of the Committee will be asked to present the trophy.
RULES FOR THE OPEN CUP COMPETITION
A) Open to individual/groups of Club Members with anybody supplying additional services.
B) A film may contain up to 40% stills and the completed film must not exceed 15 minutes.
C) Club Member(s) may enter a film that has previously been shown at the club providing it has not appeared in any of the Club's previous competitions.
D) Entertainment, editing, originality/ concept, sound and visuals should be the main criteria.
E) 3 entries or more will constitute a competition.
F) The competition will be judged by another Club if available, otherwise films will be judged by Club Members.
G) A member of the Committee will be asked to present the trophy.
RULES FOR TRAVELOGUE COMPETITION
A) The main filming and editing to be done by the individual Club Member. Additional services may be added.
B) A film may contain up to 40% stills and the completed film must not exceed 12 minutes.
C) A Club Member may enter more than one film.
D) A Club Member may enter a film that has previously been shown at the Club providing it has not appeared in any of the Club's previous competitions.
E) Entertainment value and editing should be the criteria.
F) The competition entries will be shown on the last club evening in December and judged by the Guests.
G) A member of the Committee will be asked to present the trophy.
RULES FOR THE SHORT FILM COMPETITION
A) Open to individual Club Members with additional services being provided by Members and non members (story and main film making to be done by individual members)
B) A film may contain up to 10% stills and the completed film must not exceed 3 minutes.
C) A Club Member may enter a film that has previously been shown at the club providing it has not appeared in any of the Club's previous competitions.
D) Entertainment, editing, originality/ concept, sound and visuals should be the main criteria.
E) 3 entries or more will constitute a competition.
F) The competition will be judged by another Club if available, otherwise films will be judged by Club Members.
G) A member of the Committee will be asked to present the award.
